New York Believes In Equality! Legalizes Same Sex Marriage!!!!

Yes! Yes! Yes!!!!!!!In a vote of 33-29 the New York state Senate voted in favor of same-sex legislation on Friday, thanks to four Republican senators who joined with their Democratic counterparts to recognize the right of ALL New Yorkers to the protections and privileges that come with civil marriage. The New York state Assembly approved the measure last week. And NY Governor Andrew Cuomo, who strongly supports the measure, is expected to sign it into law soon. It will go into effect 30 days later, meaning same-sex couples could begin marrying in New York by midsummer. New York now joins Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and the District of Columbia in treating all of their residents the same and allow same-sex couples the access to civil marriage. Equality for ALL!Separate but equal is not equal!!!

    Re: lorraine84 – Tradional or not, this is SIMPLE human rights. This is equality. To not be for it , is saying straight people deserve mroe rights than gay, and as well are better than them, and hold a higher position. Very God like.
