Pink Floyd Guitarist’s Son Sentenced To 16 Months In Jail Due To London Riot!

Just another sad reminder that actions have consequences. Charlie Gilmour, the son of Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmore, was sentenced to 16 months in jail today after he reportedly dropped acid, took a valium, and participated in attacking a Jaguar included in Prince Charles and Camilla’s motorcade during a student riot in London last year, during which he was quoted screaming:”Let them eat cake, let them eat cake, they say. We won’t eat cake, we will eat fire, ice and destruction, because we are angry, very fucking angry. “He was also photographed that day swinging from a Union Flag on the Cenotaph war memorial, as part of the protest against the rise in school tuition fees, and although he claimed his behavior was due to being rejected by his biological father, writer Heathcote Williams, Judge Nicholas Price QC was having no excuses in court, and was quoted telling the young man:”Such outrageous and deeply offensive behaviour gives a clear indication of how out of control you were that day. It caused public outrage and understandably so. For a young man of your intelligence and education and background to profess to not know what the Cenotaph represents defies belief. You have shown disrespect to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, to those who fell defending this country. “Eek! That’s some serious scolding! But justifiably so, we’d say! We understand getting caught up in the moment, but to not only disrespect such an important memorial, but to allow yourself to act so violently when the royal family is involved – pure STOOPIDITY!What was he thinking?! Oh well – we suppose he’ll have a lot of time to think about that while he’s behind bars![Image via WENN. ]

  1. Definitely understand where he’s coming from, but he could have taken his valium and made a nice little petition instead.

  2. Re: Modern Thinker – please take the chimp off your avatar. it doesn’t deserve to be the picture you chose to represent your posts. i mean the poor thing is so much more evolved than the person whose actually writing the comments.

  3. Damn. He should have stayed home and listened to his dad’s records on acid. More fun and less jail.

  4. I personally feel he had every right to riot! Increasing fee’s by that much is ridiculous and someone had to give a voice to their cause. While I don’t condone taking drugs or putting people in a position where they fear for their lives, I do feel sorry for him because it looks like the judge just wanted to make an example out of him.

  5. Poor David and Polly, they must be so ashamed of this dumb-ass. The Judge is correct. With his level of education and intelligence it’s shocking that he’d do such a foolish and childish thing. Prison is just what he needs to sort himself out and grow up. Fee’s rise, that’s what happens in a tough economy, don’t whine about it, shut up and deal with it like everyone else.

  6. Hey teacher! Leave those kids alone! lmao

  7. I would be pretty pissed if the government raised my college tuition to three times for the next year of what it used to cost yet can afford to put on an extravagant wedding. Even if he did get out of hand his reasons were honorable. He probably shouldn’t have taken the Valium though. It is a true “let them eat cake ” moment.

  8. Christ! I thought that was Harry Potter!

  9. Nice looking young chap. I think he’ll make a lovely mistress in prison. (by the way, are prisons going to be chronicled as part of gay history?)
