Bringing an end to another emotionally-charged roller coaster of a season, Ashley Hebert was forced to make her final decision during Monday night’s climatic episode of “The Bachelorette”. Situated on the scenic island of Fiji, the 26-year-old Maine native had whittled the field of 25 potential partners down to two, with J. P. Rosenbaum and Ben Flajnik being the last men standing. After turning down a heartbroken Flajnik’s proposal, Miss Hebert welcomed Rosenbaum, who said to her, “All the time we’ve spent together, it’s been the happiest time of my life. And you always say to me you’re smiling all the time, you’re going to have wrinkles when you’re older. Well, I smile because of you. You bring that out. What I do know for absolute certain is that I am madly in love with you. I love everything about you. “With Ashley and J. P. then sharing a passionate kiss, Hebert said, “Today is the reason why I went through all the good times and the bad times, and I’ve been wanting to tell you how much I loved you for so long now. You mean the world to me and I do not want to be with anyone else forever. “Clearly overjoyed after being chosen as this season’s winner, Rosenbaum, who’s a 34-year-old construction manager, got down on one knee while saying, “I’m so in love with you. You’re the one. You’re it. Ashley, will you marry me?””Yes!” an overwhelmingly elated Hebert answered as a Neil Lane engagement ring was placed onto her finger as the couple once again embraced during a show-ending smooch that they’ll surely treasure for years to come.
