Reading a very interesting article in Foreign Policy magazine on the topic of violence in the world, interestingly and contrary to what common sense might say, the world is becoming a less violent place.Today there are armed conflicts in the Middle East, social problems have been violent protests in North Africa, piracy in Somalia, massacres in Congo and Sudan, counterinsurgency in Colombia, and of course our drug war increasingly shared by some countries of Central and South America. In total, the world counted 18 armed conflicts currently in a formal way.Our perception of violence surely tells us we have too many deaths because if we see any newscast or read any newspaper or news portal, we will surely notice some talk about violence, war, conflicts, killings, attacks, and above all be notes first or second page.But sometimes you have to travel outside of Mexico to understand the impact of war on population, economy and development of a country.
