As the year comes to a close, both Goddess Adele and Lady GaGa are dominating on the charts!!!!In 2011, Adele’s 21 was the best-selling album of the year AND she had the #1 single of the year (Rolling in the Deep), AND the #1 music video of the year (Live At the Royal Albert Hall)!!!!!In all of Nielsen SoundScan history, NO OTHER ARTIST has topped all three of these year-end charts! Wowsa!!!!As for GaGa, her new album Born This Way is set to become the #2 album of the year! Not only that, but her release is the best-selling album for an American artist in 2011!AND Born This Way will become GaGa’s highest ranking album to date on year-end charts!Congratulations to both Adele and GaGa and all the other artists that made 2011 a great year for music!P. Re: GAGAlovery – The numbers Perez quoted in his entry for Adele’s sales are very similar to those in the Yahoo article, so we can figure they’re comparing similar data. I don’t see why he’d include numbers from a different set of data, so Bieber’s and Swift’s numbers should be comparable too. If the Yahoo article was looking at worldwide sales, it wouldn’t use the Nielsen US number of 4.8 million to claim Adele as first. Wikipedia says “As of November 2011, worldwide sales for ’21’ have surpassed 12 million copies.”

Both Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift sold more albums than Lady GaGa, so how is she #2? Both you and Yahoo seem to have it wrong.

Shesh some of you dont get this. Yes Bieber and Taylor Swift beat Gaga, but only in the United States. WW GAGA is still #2 to Adele. As for hte 99 cents promo she had in the States stop bashing her and calling her a cheater. That was amazons choice not hers what the hell you all blaming her for?

In the United States Bieber sold more, WW Gaga sold more. But Adele was #1 in both
