Harry Connick Jr. ‘s On A Clear Day Revival Bows Out Early
Sad. We don’t think audiences gave it as much of the chance it deserved. Another new Broadway show is bringing down the marquee, as producers of On A Clear Day have announced that production will play its final performance Jan. 29. It’s probably the highest-profile casualty of the season, taking into account how beloved the musical — and it’s star, Harry Connick Jr. — is. But the numbers were just never there, even in the busy holiday weeks. The show has constantly struggled to bring in an audience, so with that, it will just have to bow out after 29 previews and 57 regular performances. So brief! We’re sad to see it go like this. On such a low note, you know? And who could be next, we wonder? First Bonnie & Clyde, then Lysistrata Jones, now this. Will this be the end of the slaughter???? [Image via WENN. ]
