This is devastating. One month after releasing an incredibly disturbing, touching, and inspiring It Gets Better video (above), 19-year-old filmmaker EricJames Borges took his own life. EricJames was an extremely vocal supporter of the LGBT community, who interned at The Trevor Project, and he told the world his very sad story to prove that it does get better. Here’s what The Trevor Project’s Communications Director Laura McGinnis had to say about this tragedy:”We are deeply saddened to hear about the tragic death of EricJames Borges, and our hearts go out to his family and friends, and his community. “”EricJames was a dedicated, trained volunteer. Our main concern right now is that those affected by his death feel supported and can get the care they need. “And here is the final message that EricJames imparted to the world in his It Gets Better video:”You have an entire life fit to burst with opportunities ahead of you. Don’t ever give up, and don’t ever for one second think that you’re not a valuable and beautiful contribution to this world. “This must end now! We CANNOT keep losing such wonderful, valuable people to all the hate in the world. Rest in Peace, EricJames.

  1. Please stop. This guy was a hyprocrite coward who could dish, but didn’t listen or heed his own advice. What kind of role model is that….certainly not one I want my child following the advice of.

  2. First off: The new navigation on this site is horrible. Slow, buggy and cheap.

Second: This kid killing himself has nothing to do with being gay or bullied. This kid more than likely had severe depression for years. I think the gay Bully thing is a stretch to blow your brains out. This kid had clinical depression and needed treatment. ..what he didn’t need was to try and expose himself more online and attempt to be famous for being bullied because he liked men.

  3. We don’t even know why, it could have been for a number of reasons.

NOt to mention, I’m so glad only Gays get bullied. How about the other kids that have killed themselves?

  4. I hope this isnt turning into some sort of fad now. Why does it seem so many ppl are killing themselves now or has it always been this many and we are just now hearing about and thats the difference? Anyways, RIP. Sad he felt that ending his life was the answer, that is was so bad being alive that even death was better.

  5. shut up the fuck up!

  6. it is just so wrong that this is going on..my son is 9, he is a handsome, very smart little boy who when in public school was very popular. I moved him to a semi private school where he is now an outsider, he has been there 2 years and not one birthday party invite. Oh he does get an idea he will be invited when the birthday kid tells my son to go home and wait for a call that of course does not come. My son isn’t gay and the other day was the first time he told me that “school is 50 percent social and he doesn’t have any friends.” I am just saying that no matter what sexual preference; bullying and ostricizing kids is alive and well. The school doesn’t want to lose my son, he has very high marks and they need kids like him to show the school board that they have a very high rate of extraordinary kids. My son has not cried, but I am sure that this is eating at him, he has kept his head high and he defends himself but he must be hurting. My oldest son is 27 and he was also picked on and bullied but he too did not let these kids change who god made. He went on to become on of the most popular kids in our community and I am hoping that will be the case for my 9 year old. Please don’t let kids change who you are and for gods sake do not kill yourself, they win when you hurt or die.

  7. Poor sad young man. My God, when is this going to stop? I hope he finds the peace in death he could not find here.

  8. I guess it didn’t get better.

  9. God this is truly sad news…the bullying must, must stop now. And parents must be understanding. I pray for his soul that he may finally find the peace that eluded him in life…and may his words please, please save others who may be thinking as he did.

It must get better…it has to get better. Please let it get better. Please let there be love in this world for all its beings.

  10. The pain he’s feeling is very visible. He didn’t believe it could get better. Smh he had no one. I hope his parents collaped on the floor crying and begging for forgiveness.
