James Cameron Tweaked ONE Scene For Titanic 3D

While George Lucas would have replaced the entire cast with digital imagery, James Cameron resisted temptation to cut scenes he was no longer happy with when preparing to re-release his blockbuster film Titanic in 3D. There is, however, one small change. Did U ever notice that the stars above Kate Winslet’s head, while she’s floating on a piece of driftwood in the Atlantic ocean, aren’t quite right?Neither did we and we didn’t care either, but one of the country’s leading astronomers did and he wrote Cameron to tell him all about it. In a recent interview with British magazine Culture, the director of the blockbuster film explained: “Oh, there is one shot that I fixed. It’s because Neil deGrasse Tyson, who is one of the U. S. ‘ leading astronomers, sent me quite a snarky email saying that, at that time of year, in that position in the Atlantic in 1912, when Rose is lying on the piece of driftwood and staring up at the stars, that is not the star field she would have seen, and with my reputation as a perfectionist, I should have known that and I should have put the right star field in. So I said, ‘All right, you son of a b**ch, send me the right stars for the exact time, 4. 20am on April 15, 1912, and I’ll put it in the movie. ‘ So that’s the one shot that has been changed. “Now THAT is what we call perfection, although we think astronomers will be the only people in the audience that appreciate the small alteration. Titanic, the Oscar-winning film that captured our hearts in 1997, hits screens in 3D on Wednesday. Will U be reliving the magic?[Image via WENN. ]

  1. Who gives a shit. This movie has been out for a long time now. It was exciting to see it when it first came out. 3d is annoying and to convert a film and re release it is taking advantage of your audience.
