Usher’s Ex-Wife Will Be Forced To Pull The Plug On Son After His Insurance Runs Out
We cannot even begin to imagine what this poor woman must be going through right now. This is a decision that no mother should ever have to make. A week after Kyle Glover, Usher’s stepson with Tameka Foster, was declared brain dead after a tragic jet ski accident in Georgia, we’ve now learned that the singer’s ex-wife will be forced to take the 11-year-old off of life-support as soon as early August, as his insurance coverage will expire. According to sources, Tameka’s insurance company has yet to set a specific deadline, but have made it clear that they will only cover the cost of the enormous hospital bills for a few months. And while Usher has been supportive throughout this entire, devastating ordeal, he has yet to offer to cover any of the medical expenses, nor does Tameka expect him to. Instead, she’s holding on to the hope that little Kyle will somehow be able to pull through, and for her sake, as well as his friends, family, and loved ones, we hope that somehow a miracle can happen and he does. Stay strong, you guys. You are all in our prayers right now. [Image via WENN. ]

Re: rachelinala – This is very true. A very careless post indeed. No patient is denied care no matter how severe the injury. Try doing an ounce of research next time.

One can stay on a ventilator to ‘breathe for them’ for a long time. Organs can only be donated if the patient remains on a ventilator. Once the ventilator has been pulled, a person can breathe on their own, even if they are brain dead, for quite some time — but the organs cannot be considered for donation as they will not have had sufficient oxygen supply. As a mother, I cannot imagine having to be the one who makes that decision, but for now, no hospital is going to ‘make’ her pull the plug on her kid. The physician can advise her what to do, but it is the mother’s decision whether to begin the process of letting him die. It is a grave and sad situation. I pray she has the strength to go forward.

“Pull through”? Brain dead = he passed away. I can’t imagine how awful that has to be for his mother but it’s the truth and caring for a dead body round the clock for months on end is not only costing the insurance company ridiculous amounts of money but using up the doctors and nurses valuable time they could be spending, I don’t know, saving the life of an actual breathing person? It’s a rough situation on the family but they need to think with thier brains not their hearts or he’ll stay there for years. RIP.

Re: raypearson – You old, heartless, bastard! Something tells me that your loved ones (assuming you has any) will have no problem pulling the plug on you. They probably would like to do anything it takes to help you get six feet under. You wouldn’t even make decent compost. A woman is trying to say goodbye to her eleven year old child, not deciding on pizza toppings! I would suggest that you jump off a building so that you could provide organs to someone, but you probably have nothing of any use inside you. Heaven knows you are already without a heart and brain!

Re: Jackay00 – Actually once you are brain dead you are legally dead. Most hospitals only give people a few days at most to say goodbye. The hospital is being really generous since they’re spending money just keeping what is essentially a dead body alive.

Very tragic accident and srsly when I sit here and the watch the crazy jet skiers out on the lake I’m surprised there aren’t more accidents. My own kids have nearly been mowed over by drunken jet skiers. But that is another issue. Where is the childs biological Dad? Usher According to reports, the insurance should cover for the next 1-2 months. The chances of recovery from having no brain waves is pretty much zero, sad to say.

Sadly, she should just pull it in the next week and take care of her many others kids.
His status is not going to improve, ESP if the brain is dead. The accident and death are tragic, ending artificial support is just being a good mother.

Re: Rigby – No, the hospital has no obligation to you once your insurance runs out. The only way they would keep doing anything is if there was a chance he could come out of it. But since there is not, they will tell her to pull the plug or keep paying.

these idiots, should have had the organs harvested and pulled the plug DAYS ago. All they are doing is wasting money and killing the people who could have been saved by his parts.
