Exciting weekend in the Mexican League

This weekend had some interesting things to look forward to. Some controversial whining, some recent bad results from powerhouse Chivas and some questionable goalkeeping.
To start it off, lets mention during the week that Puebla coach got all upset and arranged a press conference to tell everyone that if Puebla didn’t win on Sunday vs America that he would resign. Sounds like an upset guy. From his interview he stated that the players need to be motivated and that maybe they needed a new guy at the helm. I think he is really upset at his players and wants to try to motivate them. I also think he is partially acting like a whiny baby. So Puebla goes out and wins the match 2-1. A good result and Chelis gets to continue with Puebla. Now all we have to do is wait for the next drama.
Next, as part of the same Puebla / America game, lets focus on goalkeeping. We all have seen the sorry attempt to block a North Korean shot on goal by Memo Ochoa with the Mexican National Team not too long ago. This time a sharp and low shot by Puebla left Memo eating another block-able shot on goal. Is this really the best goalkeeper Mexico has? Michel looks good with Chivas but tends to look lost and out of place in my view of him with the NT. Corona, has pretty much ruined his chances by demonstrating poor play with Cruz Azul, oh and also by beating that one dude to a pulp. Oswaldo is on Aguirre’s ban list for some reason, but he himself has had is share of blunders. In the end, Mexico may go to South Africa with goalkeeping as a weakness.
Lastly, Chivas who as been suffering lately, got a convincing win vs Santos in Jalisco. There was some controversy when Chichario Hernandez went in for an out of reach long ball and was knocked down by a Santos defender. Chiquidracula called the penalty to put Chivas up 3-2. Yes, defender Hector Reynoso took it and got it past Oswaldo. Oswaldo was furious and got a red card at the half. The rest was all Chivas who took the game 6-2. One thing to not is that in the past Chiquidracula, AKA Marco Antonio Rodriquez, has been known to ref games in favor of hated America, but now that he seems to do it in favor of the beloved RebaƱo, no one says pio. Interesting.

  1. lol, spammer.

I didn’t hear that from Oswaldo. He’s trying to play down the goleada he took. I bet you hes hoping Chivas rips into Ochoa this weekend also.

  2. What’s up with this guy ^

Did you hear what Oswaldo said after the game? One more or one less goal it doesn’t make a difference, that’s what he said. I just found it funny. :P
